Investing in culture is investing in knowledge, information and citizenship.
Culture awakens our senses, is essential to understand the past and build the present, fosters creativity and develops critical thinking.
The experience of visiting national museums and monuments offers the opportunity of deepening this knowledge, either through the enjoyment of their spaces and the histories they tell or through access to the different art forms that make up the cultural program of Museus ea Monumentos de Portugal.
Following the principle of democratization of culture, access to museums, monuments and palaces under Museus e Monumentos de Portugal involves different prices types, offering exemptions and discounts in order to reinforce social inclusion and territorial cohesion.
Residents in Portugal can access 37 museums, monuments and palaces free of charge 52 days a year, any day of the week, on presentation of their Citizen Card.
