Accessibility

Promoting easy access is a fundamental element in people's quality of life. This is an essential means for the exercise of the rights granted to any citizen and contributes clearly to a greater strengthening of social ties and to a greater civic participation of everyone.

Museus e Monumentos de Portugal shall make accessibility an imperative through a transversal inclusion policy that promotes access to all people, regardless of their physical, sensory or cognitive condition.

Lei n.º 46/2006 de 28 de Agosto - Prohibits and punishes discrimination on the grounds of disability and existence of an aggravated health risk.

Decreto-Lei n.º 163/2006 de 8 de Agosto - Approved the regime of access to buildings and establishments for public use, public thoroughfare and residential buildings.

Lei n.º 67/2007 - Approved the regime of non-contractual civil liability of the State

Despacho n.º 2183/2020 - Created the Working Group to develop and present the National Strategy for the Promotion of Access and Inclusion to Museums, Monuments and Palaces under the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and the Regional Directorates of Culture.
